PDVL stands for Private Hire Car Driver's Vocational Licence. It is required by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for anyone who wishes to drive private hire vehicles for platforms like Grab, Gojek, or other ride-hailing services in Singapore. A medical examination is mandatory as part of the licence application process.
Licence A includes a consultation, visual acuity test, and chest X-ray, while Licence B includes only the consultation and visual acuity test without the X-ray. The type of licence you need depends on LTA's requirements for your specific vocational licence application. Please check your LTA form to confirm which licence type is required.
Besides PDVL, LTA requires medical examinations for several other vocational licences including TDVL (Taxi Driver's Vocational Licence), BDVL (Bus Driver's Vocational Licence), BAVL (Bus Attendant's Vocational Licence), and ODVL (Omnibus Driver's Vocational Licence).
